I recently found the ‘finale’ for the TOONTOWN-sequence in WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT, a part of a storyboard that HARALD SIEPERMANN and I created in the summer of 1987 in the AMBLIN-studio on the UNIVERSAL-lot. it was never used in the film, – since our boards summed up to about 15 min of film the director, BOB ZEMECKIS, cut the sequence down to 45 seconds.

Damn! You guys were geniuses! Not a single line wasted… and such strong compositions!!! If one could compile all the storyboards together, one would have his Bible on compositions.
Stellar!!!
Nice boards. If only the final film lived up to this. Sadly, it’s a dreary mess of a thing with terrible animation.
At least someone came out and said it.
Yet, it was enough to put animation back into the public eye and give it new life. If only for that, I’m grateful.
